Human Rights Day

Human Rights Day is a global observance and not a public holiday. The day may also include protests to alert people of circumstances in parts of the world where the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is not recognized or respected, or where the importance of these rights are not considered to be important. Cultural events are also organized to celebrate the importance of human rights through music, dance, drama or fine art.

Human Rights, Democracy and Freedom: (By Tenzin Gyatso, H.H. the XIVth Dalai Lama)
(1) Closing the Gap Between Rich and Poor in this way we can balance the rights between and the poor if we don’t segregate other people’s rights or take advantage of poor people’s weakness. We can help them if we give knowledge.
(2) Democracy and Peace Today, the values of democracy, open society, respect for human rights, and equality are becoming recognized all over the world as universal values. However, responsibility for working for peace lies not only with our leaders, but also with each of us individually. Peace starts within each one of us. When we have inner peace, we can be at peace with those around us.
(3) Human Rights Providing for equality under law, the declaration states that everyone is entitled to equal rights and freedoms without discrimination of any kind. Peace and freedom cannot be ensured as long as fundamental human rights are violated.
(4) Improving Observance of Human Rights Internationally, our rich diversity of cultures and religions should help to strengthen fundamental human rights in all communities. Underlying this diversity are basic human principles that bind us all together as members of the same human family. We all have common human needs and concerns. We all seek happiness and try to avoid suffering regardless of our race, religion, sex or social status.

We all have our own rights .. but we still have our wants even when we don’t need it. So let's set our minds that we can have all we want and need but we don’t have the right to judge other people’s lifestyle or we cannot misunderstood their actions, because like us we have the right to act who we really are.

Wouldn’t it be great if your friends and loved ones also knew about it? Share this to your friends right away! If you have loved it, Im sure they will love it too…
